The week gone by

Edgar Allan Poe had nothing on the descent into the maelstrom that is a remote control in the hands of someone who jumps around with no rhyme or reason, but stops on “A Classic Christmas (My Music),” hosted by Gavin MacLeod and Marion Ross, on the local PBS station.

Or so I heard.

How would you recover from something like that? May I recommend this, as long as you’re cool with a case of the giggles.

Saw a guy at the car dealership across from my work using a leaf blower on a tree yesterday. Just blasting off as many leaves as he could.

As someone who thinks leaf cleanup is the first chore they make you do in hell — and for whom hiring someone to do it is a series of unreturned phone calls and cancelled appointments until I finally literally ask, “Do you like money?” — I can just see the guy wielding his leaf blower like a flamethrower screaming, “OFF THE TREE, YOU MOTHER———-!”

Easy as pie … at least for you — Public speaking? No problem! Networking? Problem.

I brought this up during an exercise at my networking group the other day, and the people I was talking to all said a variation of … you guessed it … “It’s easy.” Basically, they said it’s not so hard if you practice. Well yeah, but THAT’S MY POINT!

It actually kind of ticked me off.

My Enneagram Type (Rosie Culture) — I took the test. I am a perfectionist. This is not the least bit surprising.

My Blogger Social Media Guide (Sunshine With Savannah) — I am amazed that I’ve found my way into a little group of blogging buddies, and was proud to read that I was Savannah’s first connection. I’m pretty sure she was mine, too.

Ugh … just ugh.

Darlings, a few things. I've learned a few things over the years, and I'd like to share. It's a hodgepodge.

1. Your people are who cheer you on when it doesn't benefit them. It's who are there to listen to your gripes, when you cannot do anything for them.

Hear Renata bicker with her ex-boyfriend on various topics here. I find it amusing.

SHOULD I DO BLOGMAS?

I don’t know if I’ll have time to write something every day between Dec. 1 and 25, and could I even come up with that many Christmas-related topics?

When I made this suggestion, four people liked it (even though they didn’t have ideas). Maybe I can rope them into some sort of group project.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

This was kind of a spur-of-the-moment thing. Would you like to see me try it every Sunday? I’d definitely do better at identifying stuff I liked from the previous week.
