Kickball gone crazy

I am something of a competitive human being, to the point where it’s probably unhealthy at times.

It is one of my lesser angels, and I’m not especially proud of it, but it is what it is.

But when I see something that makes me think “Damn, that’s over the top,” trust me when I tell you it’s nuts.

It starts with the headline — “Kickball Umpire Sues South Carolina Mayor, Saying He Was Fired Over a Call” — and it just goes from there.

First of all, it’s kickball, but I can’t say I’d be above going a little nuts over a bad call in a kickball game.

But then we get into the accusations that the mayor said, “This will be the last time you ever represent this town. I own this town” and not just the lawsuit from the umpire, but asking the governor and attorney general to get involved.

In case I forgot to mention … all of this over a call in a kickball game.

But while it would be easy to shake our heads and chalk it up to people being really bonkers, I found the story rather uplifting.

For you see, as bad as I can be, I’m not that bad, so it made actually made me feel good about myself.
