Ryanair and its pilots are in some kind of a dispute, which led to this gem from chief executive Michael O’Leary.
“Once you are trained and skilled at doing it … I would challenge any pilot to explain how this is a difficult job or how it is they are overworked, or how anybody who by law can’t fly more than 18 hours a week could possibly be suffering from fatigue,” he said.
“Trained and skilled” pilots may make flying look easy, but there’s a big difference between it looking easy and actually being easy.
And those pilots making it look easy is a big reason why people fly. How many people wouldn’t get on airplanes if they weren’t confident the pilot wouldn’t get them where they’re supposed to go?
